Soutzoukakia (meatballs in tomato sauce!)

Ingredients you will need


FOR THE MEATBALLS

500g Malcolm Allan Steak Mince
2 cloves garlic
1 egg beaten
100g breadcrumbs
salt/pepper
Olive Oil
1 teaspoon oregano
1 teaspoon ground cumin

FOR THE SAUCE

1 onion
2 cloves of garlic
1 small stick of cinnamon

1 teaspoon cumin

1 tablespoon tomato puree

salt/pepper

Olive Oil

 


How to make our recipe

Combine the mince, eggs, breadcrumbs etc and shape into meatballs (rugby shaped balls not round!)

Fry the onions and garlic for 5 minutes, add the chopped tomatoes, cumin, puree, cinnamon, salt and pepper to taste and cook for 20 minutes.

Brown the meatballs then add to the sauce.   Cook for a further 30 minutes then serve with rice.
