For gallant conduct and devotion to duty while serving in the middle east as a dispatch-rider with the Royal Air Force, L.A.C. Malcolm Allan, son of Mr and Mrs James Allan,17 Carmuirs Street,Camelon has been Mentioned in Dispatches. The Certificate of Mention was presented to L.A.C Allan by his commanding officer at a special parade in the Field, and it is an additional point of interest that the ceremony was witnessed by his brother, L.A.C. James Allan, who is also serving as a dispatch-rider with the R.A.F in the Middle East and who attended the parade. Another brother, Seaman John Allan. Royal Navy, who is on active service, took part in tank-landing operations during the Dieppe Raid. L.A.C Malcom Allan, who is 24 years of age, joined the R.A.F. Fully three years ago. He was for about four months in France before the evacuation from Dunkirk, and has now been in the Middle East for about 2 1/2 years. His father, Mr James Allan, is well known in sporting circles and has had a long official connection with Falkirk Football Club |
