SOS!!! Send out Steak Pies!
Last updated: 11.08am, Friday 29th December 2017
We were delighted when Lietuenant Colonel Dom Coombes, Commanding Officer of the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards who are currently part of the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus, got in touch with us recently to ask if we could help bring some Christmas cheer to his troops in Cyprus by sending our festive steak pies out for their Christmas Celebrations.
He said: “As Scotland’s Cavalry we are fiercely proud of our Scottish identity. As such, Malcolm Allan products are a favourite of our soldiers – a nice reminder of home whenever we can get it abroad – and an essential ingredient of any Christmas celebration.”
To ensure the pies made it out to Cyprus on time this important mission was undertaken by our Senior Account Manager Stewart Allan, who personally delivered the “pie-load” into the hands of Major Mick Lillie and his men at Leuchars Station, from there the precious cargo was flown down to RAF Brize Norton and then on to Cyprus.
Managing Director Gordon Allan said: “All the staff at Malcolm Allan are delighted to support our services and particularly those away from home over the festive period. Two years ago we sent products down to the Scottish troops serving in Catterick.”
The photos show Stewart handing over the pies and the troops enjoying their Christmas Lunch!
